
I feel pretty confident this is the best affordable wooden spoon readily available in the U.S. I have a few, and they can get cracked and burnt and it doesn’t matter; they still age well, and remain absolutely excellent at what they do. Ideal for all kinds of cookware — why settle for melty black plastic or scratchy metal or weirdly stain-prone silicone when you can just go with the O.G.?
I have some other spoons from artisans or serious cooking supply stores abroad, and those are all varying degrees of nice, too. But for an easily sourced version of the kitchen staple, you simply can’t go wrong with Williams Sonoma’s Fat Spoon.
