IKEA’s genius cat scratching mat

This fills a true unmet need: it turns already-existing furniture — in my case, usually a table leg — into a cat scratching post. And it’s a well-loved scratching post at that, at least in my household.

Plus, these things are so affordable that I’ve gone ahead and stockpiled a few, just in case one day IKEA discontinues them.
