Watching this was one of the most fundamental experiences of my sisters’ and my childhood years. For our much younger brother, it was the then-six-existing “Star Wars” films and the “Cheaper by the Dozen” movies (…) that were watched on endless repeat; for us, it was this.

I've written a lot about how much I love The Parent Trap, but here's a nonexhaustive list of reasons why it's my favorite: the moire wallpaper in Elizabeth's bedroom, the suede jacket Nick wears when he picks Annie-as-Hallie up from the airport, the phrase "Being young and beautiful is not a crime, you know", Grandfather's whole vibe, Chessy's whole vibe, Martin's confusing sexuality, and that white top hat.
